The CEC Chicago office, situated in Naperville, currently offers services across Illinois, extending into Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Although our company has the capacity to operate anywhere in the continental United States, as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, our primary focus remains on projects within our local area.

Since commencing operations in January 2001 with a portfolio centered around environmental projects for Fruit of the Loom, we have progressively expanded our presence in the solid waste market sector by establishing a field service operations and maintenance team. By 2012, we enhanced our offerings to include air quality services and strengthened our civil and geotechnical engineering capabilities. In 2018, we launched a survey practice, which has led to our current engagement in a second multi-year, multi-million dollar survey staffing contract, along with two additional survey contracts with the Illinois Department of Transportation. The acquisition of Roake and Associates, Inc. in December 2018 further enriched our civil engineering and surveying resources and significantly broadened our real estate and land development client base. Recently, we added Cultural Resources to our Chicago service lineup to further develop this vital area of our operations.

As a multi-disciplinary and highly skilled firm, we are committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients.

As workplace diversity and inclusion initiatives continue to gain traction, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are also growing in popularity. These voluntary, employee-led groups are dedicated to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace in line with the organizations they represent. Recently, the Chicago CECW team members came together for a delightful paint & sip party, creating a beautiful autumnal design just in time for the new Fall season! Additionally, our CECIgnite team hosted a quarterly get-together, emphasizing our mission to nurture employee growth and collaboration by offering internal and external opportunities to enhance technical, professional, and personal skills. We are committed to engaging young professionals early in their careers and retaining employees for the long term.

Our Culture

Our office has strong ties to the community and local fundraiser programs. Our local CECFit group (led by Andy Gullone) participated in the Annual Epilepsy Fall Fest 5K, which is the local fundraiser that help raise awareness and funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. This year, our running team was overwhelmed with gratitude for the excellent team members and many generous donors who helped us far exceed our goal $2,000 as we collectively raised $4,265! We have historically participated in the annual DuPage County River Sweep, during which volunteers help pick up debris in and along the branches of the DuPage River and restore nearby land to its natural state. Also, we annually sponsor a tree at the annual Brookfield Zoo Tree Trim. This is a beautiful way to support the Zoo and celebrate the Holiday Magic. In addition, many of our employees are active in their own charitable activities.
