CEC Indianapolis was established in 1998 primarily to provide solid waste engineering. Since then, the office staff and leadership has transitioned. We currently provide services in civil engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, ecological sciences, cultural resources, and environmental engineering. We’re most active in the real estate, oil and gas, power, and public sector markets. Our ecological group provides endangered bat surveying services throughout the Midwest. We’re also growing our already-strong cultural resources group that provides archaeological investigations, National Register of Historic Places eligibility determinations, archival research, and more throughout the Midwest. In 2022, CEC acquired Hamilton Designs, LLC, of Fishers, Indiana, adding a new office location to our operations in Indiana. Hamilton Designs is a site engineering, construction services, infrastructure, and land surveying firm.
CEC Indianapolis is ranked #21 on the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Largest Indianapolis-Area Environmental Consulting Firms list.

Our office is in downtown Indianapolis; there’s a lot of activity within walking distance and we frequently walk to lunch with co-workers. The vibe in the office is energetic. Several employees enjoy nearby breweries for after-hours festivities. We have a good mix of young and experienced employees.

We’ve volunteered with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful on multiple occasions by assisting with area clean-up efforts and tree plantings. A group of our employees has helped to prepare meals at Lucas Oil Stadium, and we’ve also held an office-wide donation effort for Wheeler Mission, a local not-for-profit.
