Andy Nickodem, Senior Principal, has been named CEC’s Waste Management Corporate Practice Lead.
Prior to joining CEC in 2022, Andy was a Principal at Golder Associates and then served as the National Waste Sector Leader for WSP after it acquired Golder in 2021.
Andy brought 35 years of experience in the waste industry to CEC, having spent years focused on the construction, design, operation, compliance, and permitting of landfills, transfer stations, and other support facilities.
He worked on more than 100 public and private facilities in more than 30 states and several other countries. Andy also provided financial analysis, planning, litigation support, expert witness testimony, acquisition due diligence, and market development analysis for various facilities throughout the U.S.
This body of experience Andy possesses will benefit the entire practice as it positions itself for the future.
“The reason I came to CEC is there are a lot of good quality people here and CEC has very good client relationships with the key players in waste management,” Andy said. In his new position, he will be able to build upon the fundamentals that drew him here.
Andy is already on the road visiting offices with waste practices and sitting down with staff. “I’m on a cross-country tour. I want to get people’s thoughts and discuss their goals.”
He will work to continue the standardization of procedures for the design of waste facilities, as well as preparing and championing a learning and development plan for the practice.
“Our goals in staff development will benefit our clients and bring in continued projects from repeat customers,” Andy said. He enjoys the mentoring process and passing along knowledge.
Andy will also continue his work in business development, alongside Steve Menoff, CEC’s Corporate Solid Waste Market Group Lead and a Senior Vice President.
