David Velegol Jr. joins CEC Pittsburgh as a Principal in our Water Resources practice. David has more than 37 years of experience as a professional in engineering, project management, and business development.
David has a broad range of experience including conceptual & feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, design-build, and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM). His projects include work in the primary metals, oil & gas, mining, and power markets. David has also led or worked on major projects abroad in Brazil, Canada, China, Mexico, Nigeria, Trinidad, and more.
Additionally, David currently serves as the Mayor of Follansbee, West Virginia, a role he has held since 2011. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from West Virginia University, a Master of Business Administration from Robert Morris University, and a juris doctor from Duquesne University. David was inducted into the West Virginia University Academy of Chemical Engineers in 2023. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Association for Iron & Steel Technology.
