Roger Sorenson, P.E., has joined the transportation group of our Civil Engineering practice in Austin. Roger will focus on expanding CEC’s transportation and municipal practice throughout Texas, particularly in the San Antonio area, and will work closely with CEC’s Houston and Corpus Christi offices to achieve this goal. He brings 35+ years of experience to CEC with various municipal civil engineering projects throughout the west.
Roger has led multi-disciplinary teams across multiple locations and states with expertise stretching beyond transportation to industrial and public works infrastructure as well. These projects include major freeways, urban and rural highways, arterial streets and intersections, utilities, flood control infrastructure, industrial infrastructure, and water distribution and sewer collection systems. He is a pre-certified provider in numerous Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) working categories: 3.2.1 Route studies & schematic design, 4.2.1 Roadway design, 4.4.1 Freeway interchanges, 5.5.1 Bridge & non-bridge class culvert and inlet design, 8.6.1 Rail – highway design, and 11.1.1 Roadway construction management and inspection.
Roger earned a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Utah and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. A licensed professional engineer in Idaho, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming, he is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Texas chapter and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
